Breast lift, treatment of breast ptosis at the Cannes Mougins aesthetic centre

Breast sagging and drooping

Breast ptosis refers to the sagging and drooping of the breast that occurs over time and can be exacerbated by successive pregnancies or significant weight loss. The skin of the breast then becomes too large in relation to the remaining volume of the breast, giving the chest a “hollow” appearance, often with a dip in the upper part of the breast. The surgical procedure is a “breast lift” and allows the breasts to be “lifted” and restored to a harmonious shape. The technique used and the final scars will depend on the morphology of the breast and the result desired by the patient. In most cases, the surgeon will use “inverted T” or “anchor” scars, as in breast reduction surgery. In cases of moderate ptosis, it is possible to use a scar limited to the area around the areola: however, this technique, known as “round block”, is only suitable in specific cases and cannot be used on all patients.

If there is insufficient volume, this procedure can be combined with breast implants or an injection of fat that has been previously removed by liposuction.
This procedure can usually be performed on an outpatient basis or during a short overnight hospital stay. Post-operative pain is mild to moderate (if breast implants are inserted at the same time).
