Arm lift

Arm lift at the Cannes Mougins aesthetic centre
Following significant weight loss or with advancing age, the skin on the arms can become stretched, giving an unsightly appearance that is often a source of self-consciousness. Patients frequently report discomfort when dressing and describe a complex that prevents them from wearing short sleeves during the summer months. A surgical technique can correct this. An arm lift, or brachioplasty, removes excess skin and tightens the skin on the arms. This procedure is always combined with liposuction of the treated area, which facilitates skin mobilisation and removes excess fat where present.
The procedure is most often performed on an outpatient basis. Depending on the amount of excess skin, the location of the scars will vary. In cases of moderate excess skin, the cosmetic surgeon may simply make a scar hidden in the armpit. In cases of more significant excess, the scar, which is often discreet, is hidden on the inner side of the arm. In both cases, liposuction is combined with the removal of excess skin, and compression garments must be worn for four weeks.
