Thread lift at the Cannes Mougins aesthetic center

Tensor threads, a temporary alternative to facelifts

Tensor threads are a temporary alternative to facelifts. They are generally absorbable sutures with a duration of action of around 12 months. These threads are notched to adhere to the skin, enabling them to be pulled in a way that mimics (albeit generally less spectacularly) the effects of a facelift in the treated area. Treatment with tensor threads can correct jowls, bitterness folds and nasolabial folds. It can also be used to lift cheekbones or eyebrows. The latest generation of threads also treats fine lines on the lips, cheek creases and décolleté. Threading is performed under local anaesthetic at Dr. Ihrai's surgery. It is essential to avoid taking aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs for 5 days prior to treatment. An arnica preparation and anti-oedematous treatment are started a few days beforehand, especially for patients who mark easily. To correct fine lines or a wrinkled appearance, a mesh is made using fine threads. This mesh is particularly effective in inducing the body to produce collagen, which helps to correct fine lines. To achieve a lifting effect, 3 to 5 threads are inserted under the skin, which is then gently tightened by the surgeon.

Treatment with tensor threads is painless. Small marks or folds in the skin may occur, but these generally disappear after 3 to 5 days.

For the next 15 days, we recommend avoiding strenuous exertion and any overly energetic treatments or massages to the face, to avoid displacement of the threads.
